A little about who we are...

Ali

I have always had a real passion for the outdoors, exploring the hills whenever the chance arose. Since moving to the lakes 10 years ago I have discovered the joys of rock climbing and canoeing. Since then I have had adventures all over the UK, I have also enjoyed climbing adventures in the Alps, Spain, Bulgaria and America. Canoeing has seen me venture to France and Sweden.

I hold the Mountain Instructor Award, which qualifies me to instruct all aspects of Mountaineering in summer conditions and also the Winter Mountain Leader Award, which allows me to lead client’s hill walking in winter conditions. I am a level 3 White Water Canoe coach and also a Trail Cycle Leader, which allows me to instruct Mountain Biking. I worked for 5 years instructing activities for people with a visual impairment and have considerable experience in this area. I enjoy being out and about at all times of the year and love to share my passion and knowledge for the hills and the lakes with others.

I grew up rock climbing and generally having adventures on Dartmoor. Since then I have lived and worked throughout the UK and Europe and am now really lucky to live in the Lake District. I have been climbing for over 13 years, with lots of experience all over the UK as well as in America, Spain and France. I hold the Mountain Instructor Award, and am a SPA course director. I am also a very keen paddler, qualified as a Level 4 White Water Kayak coach, Level 3 Surf Kayak coach and a Level 2 Canoe coach.

I’m a qualified teacher and this helps me to adapt my coaching ideas and styles to best suit each individual. I thrive on teaching people and helping them to have adventures in the outdoors.
