National Trust Outdoor Activities

We've teamed up with the National Trust for the past 7 seasons now to offer a brilliant range of outdoor activities in the Lake District. We’re proud to support the work of the National Trust who look after the landscape and environment in which we have our adventures.

The activities are based primarily at the Low Wray (on Lake Windermere, near Ambleside) and Great Langdale campsites and are perfect for young and old, adventurous and nervous alike.

During school holidays we put on a timetable of activities, way in advance, so you can book ahead and as long as the weather plays ball, it'll run...even if there's only 1 person booked on!  And if we cancel because of the weather, you can have a full refund or book onto another session.

Most half day sessions are £27 per person, Gorge Scrambling for the adventurous at Church Beck sessions are £33/adult & £30/child. The price stays low per person if there is one of you or ten of you.  You normally only get this rate with other companies if you make a large booking, but we don't want it to be like that, so the price is the price.  And to be honest, our sessions fill up, which is lovely and everyone is great fun, the kids mix and get to know each other and it adds to your adventure.

Part of what is important to us as is that part of your price goes straight back to the National Trust to support the work of the Rangers looking after the landscape.  Whether that’s in Langdale maintaining the paths we use for ghyll scrambling or the lakehore path to Wray castle.

Our sessions run from 10:00 - 13:00 and then 14:00 - 17:00.  Moonlit Canoeing runs from 20:00 - 22:30, but this varies with the sunset times and will be confirmed when you book.

We also run all our adventures outside of holiday periods, and use our normal tariff for this.  Again, we think is set at good value and beats everyone else we can find. Check it out here.
