Discover Mountain Scrambling
(1) Halls Fell Ridge, Blencathra, Cumbria, England.
Scrambling is a cross between hill walking and climbing. It gives a more challenging and rewarding way to reach a mountain summit or stray further away from the usual easy paths without being too extreme. Scrambles range from easy but spectacular rocky walking to harder, steeper movement over rock that requires some climbing and occasionally the security of a rope. It gives an amazing days out, but requires judgment and skill, both of which we will help you develop.
We’ll introduce you to some of the easier scrambles or guide you along the longer, more challenging routes in the central fells. There are also many adventures to be had within the amazing ghylls that cut through the hills. We can offer epic descents for anyone wanting a complete soaking or a gentler ascent looking out for the wildlife and exploring old mine workings on the way.
