This course will take you through all the skills you need to navigate confidently on the hills. We will cover map symbols, scales, contour interpretation, using the compass, taking bearings and measuring distance through pacing and timings. The course is over two days, with a maximum of six participants, allowing us to spend lots of time with you individually and follows the national navigation award scheme. During the course, you will have the chance to be assessed at the bronze standard.


Difficulty Rating: 1 1 (some hill-walking experience is needed, but you need never have used a map before)
